Arts and Crafts Classes

Class participants need to sign-up for classes at least one day prior to the beginning of class. Classes without sufficient participation will be canceled. 731-3641

Welding Class

Wednesday, Feb. 1, 5:30 to 9 pm
Learn the fundamentals of welding, such as M.I.G. welding and plasma cutting.
Cost: $25 per person for instruction and materials. Must sign up before day of the class.

Paint Booth Intro Class

Wednesday, Feb. 8, 5:30 to 9 pm
Learn to use the paint booth and paint gun; receive certification to use both.
Cost: $25 per person for instruction and materials. Must sign up before day of the class.

Craft Classes

Knitting

Thursdays, 10 am to noon
Learning how to knit requires little more than a few simple stitches and some practice.
Cost: $10 per student for instruction and materials for first class; $5 for other sessions.

Basket Weaving

Every Tuesday, 6:30 to 8:30 pm
You will also find that making baskets is very rewarding and make terrific personal gifts for your family and friends.
Cost: $20 - plus some of your own materials. This is a 6-week course starting on any Tuesday during the month.

Oil Painting (Dorothy Dent Techniques)

Saturday, Jan. 21, 10 am to 4 pm
Learn to paint some of the country landscapes that Dorothy is so well known for - old barns, water mills, cabins, and rural settings.
Cost: $55 per person. All supplies provided.

Beginning Sewing Class

Tuesdays & Thursdays, Feb. 7, 9, 16 & 21, 6 to 8:30 pm
Learn the parts of a sewing machine, how to use the machine, pick out fabric, read and sew a pattern. We’ll make an apron and then you’ll be able to easily make curtains, pillow cases, and mend broken seams with your own machine. You’ll have step-by-step instructions to complete your first project.
Cost: $50 for (4) 2-hour classes. Sewing machine provided; materials and patterns list must be picked up before1st class.

Oil Painting

Saturday, Feb. 18, 10 am to 4 pm

Stained Glass Class

Tuesdays, Starting Feb. 21, 6 to 8:30 pm
This is a 6-session beginner class - learn to use glass cutting tools, a soldering iron and a glass grinder.
Cost: $35 per person - some materials provided.

Cake Decorating

Advanced Gum Paste Flowers
Thursdays, Mar. 8, 15, 22 & 29, 6 to 9 pm
Class 4: Do people ask you to decorate cakes for their celebrations? Want to learn tips and techniques professional bakers on television know? Advance your skills by enrolling in Course 4 - Advanced Gum Paste Flowers!
Prerequisite to this class is Class III.
Cost: $20 per student plus material.

Woodworking Classes

The wood shop is stocked with a variety of woodworking equipment to suit any of your project needs. The following classes are for ages 16 and up.

Intermediate Woodworking

Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 17, 19, 24 & 26, 6 to 8:30 pm
Learn more advanced patterns, such as a flower box or an Adirondack chair in this 4-evening class.
Cost: $25 per person, plus materials.

Beginning Woodworking

Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 7, 9, 14 & 16, from 6 to 8:30 pm
Learn to make a shelf in these 2-evening classes. A choice of two shelves is available – a country shelf and a bathroom shelf.
Cost: $10 per person, plus materials.

Intermediate Woodworking

Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 21, 23, 28, from 6 to 8:30 pm
Learn more advanced patterns, such as a flower box or an Adirondack chair in this 3-evening class this month.
Cost: $25 per person, plus materials.

Framing Classes

Our custom framing presentation and mounting of posters, shadowboxes, stitchery, and photographs meet the demands of professionals.

Basic Framing

Every Tuesday & Thursday in Feb., from 6 to 8:30 pm
This is a 2-session class. Learn how to cut a double mat, cut glass and a wooden frame to size, pick matting colors and measure pictures.
Cost: $25 plus materials. (Must sign up in advance for class - talk to Heather or Linda)

Do-It-Yourself Framing

Shop use fee is $2 an hour. Shop users must have a current qualification card to use the equipment.
