Free programs for children at the library include Preschool Story Hour, Dial-A-Story [731-4640](stories available by dialing into the library line for a short story, read over the phone), and a summer reading program for elementary school students. The Library also offers adult educational programs and classes.

Noon Year’s Eve Party

Starts at 11:30 am with a countdown to noon for the New Year’s Party. For youth 0-16 years of age.

Preschool Storytime

Pre-school Story Time is every Tuesday at 10 am. Story time is designed for 2 to 5 year olds, but younger & older children are welcome.
The story teller reads 1 to 3 stories; afterwards, the children can do a craft related to the stories.
The Story Time themes are:

Rug Time

Every Tuesday at 9:45 am
Storytime for children from 0-2 years old; this event is held during the regular story time, but the little ones can crawl around, handle the touchy books, and sing a song or rhyme. Then the older kids get their stories and crafts.
Rug time is just before Story Time at 9:45 am - includes stories and songs.

Reading Patch Club

Reading Patch Club Sign up to attend this fun club for kids in grades K-7. It will kick off on Oct. 1 with a party – enjoy fun activities, cookies and punch. Here’s how the Reading Patch Club works … read a book, and then write a short synopsis of the book. Get a patch for every 5 books that you read! Collect all the patches and sew them on to your jacket, backpack, cap, or make a bulletin board with your patch collection.

Heroes’ Tree Bookmarks

October is National Family History Month and November is Military Family Month. Stop by the Base Library and make a bookmark for “Our Heroes’ Tree.” “How To” information and supplies are available – at the end of November the bookmarks will be sent to our deployed family members.

  • Starting Aug 1 09: 50¢ per page for color & wireless (wireless printing ONLY during library hours)

Once a quarter, the library has a class on technology/computer related topics from the basics to advanced subjects: How to use the Internet/set up an E-mail account, Blogging, Photo Shop, Second Life, Gaming, Twittering, Design your own Web page, and more to come.

Special Interest Displays and Classes

Throughout the year, the Library has displays & classes on ethnic celebrations and special interests: Hispanic Heritage, Asian-Pacific American, Quilting, Bread-baking, Hunting, Fishing, Family History.

Education, Homeschooling and the Homework Center

The Library has study materials for your education needs in a variety of formats. CLEP, DANTES and other testing study materials are available in books, DVD, iPods and internet databases.
The Librarian is available for library research instruction for students of all ages, individually or groups.
